”Karma in Black” is the second release from our Swedish neighbours, who seem to have an unique ability to create one great metalband after another. And bands that has enough skills and format, to make it bigtime abroad.

Cats of for The Defaced who play solid, down on the floor thrash, with an glimpse of melody – especially on the second song of the album “Once in Between” which ends up with an round of unplugged guitar – a great way to cool down after the rush you eventually get from listening “Once in Between”

And in just an glimpse of a second, you’ll find rest on this intense release, before the serious action is back.

The guitars operated well by Mattias Svensson and Klas Ideberg, is the spice in the hot meal The Defaced is. I haven’t heard that great guitar play a lot – its unique and rare. To find the equals of Mattias and Klas, you might check out acts like Disarray and Hatebreed. The Defaced is a good proof to the fact that, Sweden is the birthplace of some of the best metal acts ever.

The Defaced has been around since ´99, and after recording  a demo that was sent to only one label, they were signed immediately and without hesitation from Italian label Scarlet, with whom they have now released their second album.

First release “Domination Commence” received pretty good press and reviews, and prepared the continuous climb up the ladder of fame. So far, they have made the first difficult steps with succes, and I’m convinced they have what it takes, to make it the rest of the way.

With the release of “Karma in Black” the they’re off on the last part, in the best way possible.
