Delirium Xtremens
is a 5-piece outfit from Italy playing death metal the old way. The 5
songs on the album called “Cyberhuman” are equally good in intensity and
roughness, except for the third song titled “Delirium 9991” which is a
lean back tranquil ballad with an atmospheric guitar. This is probably
the lighter song when Delirium Xtremens hits the road from time to time.
This
fine band has been a part of the Italian metal scene for app. 7 years
now. And during that time, they have experienced several changes in the
line-up. They are still on the prowl for a label to sign them, but I’m
convinced that this release is an important step in that direction. Let
me emphasize – for starters, the vocal by Alberto “Ciardo” Da Rech. |
Here’s a guy who knows how to growl with a guttural twist, but he is
still making the lyrics understandable without ever loosing the edge and
roughness. The guitars work is kick-ass as well as the skin bashing.
Since I got the record a few days ago, I’ve listened to it a couple of
times. There are no glitches or flaws in the music itself, and the
record as a whole, appears to be very well produced, and with some
impressive artwork done by Francesco Tarlá, who obviously is into this
shit in a darn good way. All in all a pretty neat album, that has
already received some well deserved reviews both in Italy and abroad.
This review is –as far as I know, the bands introduction to the
Scandinavian audience, whom I am convinced will welcome this band
positively. |
