Disarmonia Mundi

Fragments of D-Generation

The story of the band: The Disarmonia Mundi project takes its first steps in the first months of the year 2000 and after many changes in the line-up, the band succesfully records 'Nebularium' - the first full lenght album completely self-produced into Ettore's home studio. The good responses allow the band to sign a contract with Self for the italian distribution and with Cd-Maximum for the russian market.

Unfortunately line-up problems prevent live performances to support "Nebularium" and slow down the proceedings of the new album too. The only survivors from the former line-up, Ettore Rigotti and Mirco Andreis, are then joined by the new screamer Claudio Ravinale and together they start to work on new material.

The ex-singer Benny Bianco Chinto writes some new lyrics and some new vocal lines too. After the first pre-productions of the new tracks, the band records in Ettore's homestudio a promo that gives them the opportunity to sign with Scarlet Records.

Firmly convinced to release another completely self-produced album (a choice that concerns both the audio and the graphics) the bands starts the recordings of the new material once again into Ettore's homestudio. In the meantime they get in contact with the frontman Bjorn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork / Terror 2000) that shows interest in the music of the band. What started as a kind of joke, the idea of a collaboration soon turns into reality when Speed joins the band for the recordings of the vocal parts of their second album entitled "Fragments of D-Generation".

After the recordings and the mix, the mastering process is entrusted to Goran Finnberg at Mastering Room in Sweden. Now the band is looking forward to find the last members to complete the line-up and finally start a live activity. 'Fragments of D-Generetion' is a hell of a masterpiece, mixing technical and thrashing death metal with crushing rhythmic heaviness, rumbling double bass explosions and catchy, energetic, melodic riffing.

An amazing and surprising result for a newcomer band that uncompromisingly demonstrate how mature and personal Disarmonia Mundi’s own style is. Japanese label Soundholic (Soilwork, Carnal Forge, Terror 2000) offered a priority-deal for this upcoming release and it's the first time for a death-metal oriented band from Italy. As you now know the band a little better, it’s time to let you in on the music itself. Disarmonia Mundi plays a very harmonic and atmospheric style of melodic death metal, with some bonechrushing drums and guitars, played on a very admirable level. Disarmonia Mundi seems to be very true to the genre. Especially the #7th track of the album called “A Mirror behind” reveals some very impressive Yes-like vocals that are both clean and very powerful.

“Fragments of D-Generation” consist of 10 songs that are equal in quality despite some difference in atmosphere and density. This is indeed an album that will fit the taste of all demanding deathmetalfans. I’ve listened to the album twice while writing this review, and I have already reached the state of dependency. How lucky for me, that I have the album already! You should go and buy it instantly!!
