Golem

”Death Never Dies”

Golem – a 5 piece Italian death metal act, with a twist of melodic atmosphere above all the ferocious and wild energy.

Despite the very relaxed and beautiful intro on the album, it turns out that the album is very action packed – guitars played with an incredible pace and accuracy. I don’t know how these guys keep up with this rapid tempo, but they do it for good. They play tight and firm and with a typical death metal sound – thunderous drums and an ultra growling and evil sounding vocal.

There are some very well played guitar solos here and there, and despite the average level of musical innovation and experimentation, “Death Never dies” comes out as one of the best death albums, I’ve heard this fall. And you can take that as a seal of approval – I’ve heard a lot of music. In another review it was stated that: “They can write good songs and they can deliver them with intensity and technical perfection.

What stand above all else are the excellent vocal performance and the guitars.” This is so true, but drums and bass are also very worth mentioning, adding their skills to the final result. I have this feeling about Golem, being an awesome experience on stage. This surely is one of the bands to take notice of in the future – concert list in your newspaper or at your local venue. Golem is a band to see.

My personal favourite on the album is song #5 “Something to Remind” – it comes out to be the song with the most brutal force and ravishing atmosphere. No holds barred here, this is fuel of the highest octane. Very flammable and listenable as metal music should be.
