Highest Place

"First Sight"

Highest Place is an outfit from Granby, Ca. founded by two of the present members of the band – Kévin Isabelle and Nicolas Tremblay. The bands past are seen before. Good friends from high school get together, bounded by a common love for music and expressing artistically in a musical way.

Highest Place saw the light of day, and the time took its toll, while the band grew as a unit, and developed their individual skills as musicians. The hard work with rehearsal for the sake of skills, seem to have paid of very well. Highest Place is a young and upcoming band, with a promising career ahead of them.

The style is somewhat experimental flavoured with some nice lyrics, and lots of variety in pace and intensity in the music. I gave up on comparing Highest Place to bands more known internationally – Highest Place seem to have made a genre of their own.

“First Sight” is produced and composed by the band itself, and I sincerely think that the guys in Highest Place, has a lot to be proud of.

There are still minor flaws for the band to attend to, but the overall impression with the album is very positive, and it will be interesting to follow the bands career in the future. At Metal Coven we think there are a lot of good musical experiences ahead – not only for the band members, but also those who buy their records, or show up at their concerts.

Thumbs up for a promising Canadian metal band, already known for playing with both authority and lots of skills.
