Luciferion "The Apostate" |
|
Luciferion is yet another sign that our Swedish brothers has a good grip on the heavy rock. Not only with their ability to attract the big bands, but also their own natives where Luciferion in one of many. The style is extreme death. Luciferion is one of the most evil and explosive bands I’ve heard in a long time. The album starts out with an intro worse than your worst nightmare, the most interesting part and the second part is a soundtrack from some movie. Too long for my taste and I was tempted to fast forward to the next song, but because I would hate to miss something I didn’t. Found out that I could have done it without problems. After the intro the music is running hot and the mood is following. It’s more evil than even King Diamond. Soundeffects and keyboards are optimal here and makes the perfect base for all of the songs. One track which is known by most fans of trash is Circle of the Tyrants by Celtic Frost, which Luciferion has managed to give an even more diabolic mood than it had before. |
At times the atmosphere is symphonic and quite melodic, but only in the bridges until all hell breakes lose again. No coinsidences here. Luciferion is 666% more raw and brutal than even the most raw and brutal bands. The guitar solos which Wojtek Lisicki has scattered throughout the album ought to give any upcoming death guitarists tears in their eyes. I’m sure Wojtek is playing on barbed wire instead of the usual strings. It’s too raw, too sharp, too brutal, too heavy and too fucking cool. The Apostate is extreme metal in highest purification and not for ordinary mortals. The rest of us are having a cozy time with this album where there’s no room for anything but raw and unsweetened metal. Not because I get any weird associations listening to the music, but I think I’ll jump into my tank and cause a little havoc around town. |
