Mnemic

"Mechanical Spin Phenomena"

It's not an easy task to label Mnemic - to cathegorize their music. What genre is and which is it not? They do seem to be influenced from many different bands such as Fear Factory and Strapping Young Lad - just to mention a few. The sound of the new release is futuristic and cyberlike, but also contains some more traditional aspects of metal - especially the thrasy ones.

Regardless of your personal preference in metal, you're bound to find elements that you'll appericiate. This record reach out to all metalheads, and will surely give them full value for their money. The razorsharp guitar, pounding drums and kickass intense boneshredding vocal - not to mention the wellhandled bass - its all there.

The general sound of the record is tight and sharp - a couple of passages are pure death, which only makes the record better. I think that Mnemic sounds like metal in about 30 or 40 years. This is very theoretical and related to personal preferences, but the associaion i get from listening to this fine release, is that they are way ahead of their time, since they pretty much sounds like music that haven't even been "invented" yet. Invented and invented - probably the wrong term, but I think you know what i mean.

Mnemic comes from Aalborg, Denmark - the northpart of Jutland, and they've been around for a couple of years. First real step towards fame, were taken by signing to the big german label Nuclear Blast. Since the signing in the first quarter of 2003 Nuclear Blast, has made a big deal out of promoting the band. A line of releaseparties are set-up and in November Mnemic are scheduled for an extensive tour in Europe with bands like Death Angel. A tour that will bring Mnemic to most parts of Europe. If you're into metal of the highest standard, with a unique mix of older and traditional elements, and futuristic hybrid parts too, "Mechanical Spin Phenomena" is an album for you  - go and check it out.
