Nigrescent makes me think of something in between Marilyn Manson and Bathory on coke. So much coke that the buzz will last for at least a week. A guitar sharp as a razorblade, drums that are probably programmed. How else can they keep up with the mad tempo all throughout this release? A vocal that sound very, very pissed off and an almost lethal doze of distortion. This is what Nigrescent sound like on an album that will do well as a remedy to get rid of any aggression and murderous thoughts the listener may carry. As good an aggression relief this record may be, as good is it to crush your mind and smash up your last grain of sanity. |
You’re bound to have mental strength enough to cope with this, very compact energy source – if not, you’ll get overwhelmed in no time – stuck in a pool of anguish and profane despair! And who wants that? I don’t mean to scare you away – the music is somewhat insidious, but if you got what it takes, you’re in for a musical treat. |
