OpeNightmare

"Sliced By a Turbomachine"

French act OpeNightmare reminds me of something I’ve heard before. The band plays a mix of Gurd, Assert, Agnostic Front, 36 Crazyfists and Biohazard – a little punk style trashy kind of music. When getting such associations from listening to the music, it should be clear that the band has a good thing going on in this release “Sliced by a Turbo machine” that I received a few weeks ago.

The general style is kind of punk like with a twist of melody thrown in here and there. Despite the trashy expression there are also some rather melodic passages - like the eye of a hurricane. A resting place in the middle of the chaotic ocean.

OpeNightmare play with the outmost intensity, and there’s no doubt that the band consist of highly skilled musicians. There’s really nothing negative to say about this French outfit – they handle their instruments well, and have put out a record on Vegas Records, that they can be proud of.

I’ve had a great time listening to this 1o tracker so far, and I’m sure the record will be taken down from the shelf again soon. I’m always up for some action packed in-your-face rock-n-roll with no fuzz and false pretensions. The music is very much alive and totally uncensored – just as it should be.
