”Thunderground”

A record from an east European country is still considered as somewhat exotic and rare – at least in Denmark but Voices of Silence is the band that can change all that. There are a lot of talented upcoming bands over there, and they’re as eager as anyone else to make it big time in the rest of the World with their music.

Voices of Silence is power metal with a very symphonic atmosphere, and with the keyboards put into focus. A keyboard that seems to create the basic rhythm, as well as the guitar to an accompanying instrument.

The overall impression of Voices of Silence is that the music is very atmospheric and melodic, without reaching the levels of bands such as Savatage and Dream Theater, which undoubtedly have been great sources of inspiration. They still have a way to go before they reach the same artistic level, but after listening to the record, there’s no doubt in my mind, that they have the basics down, and that they will end up there, if they put in the energy and dedication that is needed.

The album “Thunderground” consist of 10 tracks which are very equal in quality and expression. The sound makes a good and consistent experience throughout the album. And consider that as a seal of approval – all compositions are small masterpieces which you should check out when and if you get the chance.
