Dark Order - masters of brutal Thrash Metal |
|
Australia ain´t all about Kylie Minogue, koalas and aussie rules football. They know a bunch of things about making kickass heavy metal too. No need to mention that band where the leadguitarist is dressed up as a schoolboy. Other bands excist too and Dark Order from NSW is one of them. With the recent releases “5000 Years of Violence” and “The Violence Continuum” they’re bound to be one of the greatest bands of their genre. Think Slayer and Pantera with a little more in-your-face nerve and pounding energy and you’re there – almost. Dark Order seem to keep the fast pace from start to end of both albums, which has great musicianship in common. The pace on “5000 Years of Violence” is rapid and intense, and with the use of an old soundclip featuring ye olde commandant Adolf Hitler, the basics for an album with an evil overtone is layed down. The overall impression is that Dark Order seem to be hooked up with an energy force that is far from wearing out. Listening to such tracks as ”What is Past is Prelude”, ”Odio Puro”, ”Lord of The Warzone” og ”Beasts Within” there’s no time to rest. All the way through Dark Order play with full force and no looking back. No time to rest, no way there’s time for a short breather – no regrets, down the highway to hell with the pedal to the metal – that’s the way it should be. You better hold on tight if, you want to keep up with this incredible bunch of down-under metallers, who really sound as if they enjoy what they’re doing. |

At Metal Coven we’ve enjoyed listening to it. It’s always a great pleasure to get to know a band with such high level of energy and intensity. Dark Order don’t do any lullabys – they do kickass thrash metal of the very best kind. On the first release – “5000 Years of Violence” there’s no profound lyrics – no content to feed your mind, but that’s not a lack of quality. The musik is still fierce and raw - just as it should be. But on the second release – “The Violence Continuum” one title I’d like to enhance is “Systemized Jewish Nazism”. A song with major contradictions within the songtitle itself. And with the current situation in Israel and Palestine in mind, one or two persons may sense a connection, but we don’t wanna get into a discussion about that issue. We just feel that this particular song is one of the best on that release. Another that we’d like to mention is #5 “En Sabah Nur” which set us in retromode reminding us, of early releases from Whiplash such as “Ticket to Mayhem” At Metal Coven there’s no doubt in our mind, that Dark Order is worth any attention they will get. If you’re into thrash metal of the hardest kind – look no further. Dark Order is what you’re looking for. |
